The overall objective of the UBDC project is to contribute to future economic growth through increased academic entrepreneurial activities in Ukraine. The UBDC project will be a co-operation between Sweden, Ukraine and Lithuania, and has its base at Malardalen University, a successful Swedish university with an entrepreneurial and innovative focus. The UBDC project will establish an entrepreneurial platform, both in terms of mindset and infrastructure, at two of the leading universities in Ukraine: Ivan Franko in Lviv and Kiev Polytechnic.

The UBDC project objectives are described as follows:

• To create an entrepreneurial atmosphere and mind-set at the universities
• To stimulate and encourage young people at universities to run their own businesses
• To support students in setting up their own businesses and becoming entrepreneurs
• To establish incubators at the universities involved 
• To establish entrepreneurship as a topic on the academic agenda
• To find ways to increase the co-operation between the universities and the surrounding industry and society.
